Captain Thriller ventures on 1500m

Race 6 – Rating 71-55 – 1500m

Up to now, Captain Thriller has only raced over distances from 1000m to 1400m. He won all his races by running at the front, except the last. That day Allocation proved to be the fastest and Captain Thriller finished in the 3rd place after running wide. I think he can do well on this distance and is the favourite. Third behind Captain's Cheer the last time, Western Emblem is a regular horse in the Champ de Mars, he will rely on his finish in an attempt to surprise his opponents.

Betting proposition: Captain Thriller

Placé: Western Emblem

Race 1 – Rating 20-0 – 1500m

Narrowly defeated last Saturday by Way Galaxy, Mustarsel is back again in the opening race. The horse has maintained his good condition and the distance should please him. He will be ridden by Rakesh Bhaugeerothee same as last week. Mabrook ran progress during his last outing. This race has been beneficial for him and if he finds his finish in the straight line, he can surprised.

Betting proposition: Mustarsel

Placé: Mabrook

Race 2 – Rating 36-20 – 1400m

Victorious at his debut, Captain Tempest is well positioned to strike once more. He is in a higher class but I think he has the potential to do well. It should be remembered that during his victory, he was still a little green. This time with a gallop in the legs, he should do better. Shakelton had not done badly behind Tamworth last time. He can finish once again placed.

Betting proposition: Captain Tempest

Placé: Shakelton

Race 3 – Rating 46-30 – 1365m

In his last race, One And Only had lost one of his shoes. This could explain his poor performance that day. Torero is once against One And Only the one who beaten him on the sixth meeting. The horse in the Gujadhur stable has kept his form and will be the main opponent of One And Only. Darcy's Arcy will start his season. He remains on a win obtain on the international week-end. He may need this gallop.

Betting proposition: One And Only

Placé: Torero

Race 4 – Rating 51-35 – 1850m

Winner of his last two races, Traianius is seeking for a third consecutive victory. His task will be hard this time because he faces tougher horses and over a lengthen distance. However, the horse of the Serge Henry stable has the qualities to win. Tamworth is a potential danger to Traianius. The horse of the Rousset stable remains on a win and is also presents in a higher class. Beware of Ipse dixit who is running a distance he likes.

Betting proposition: Traianius

Placé: Ipse Dixit

Race 5 – Rating 56-40 – 1400m

Beach Club will be making his second attempt in this class. The last time he did not disgrace behind Bolting Cat. Juanfra remains a powerful front runner and he could well lead the race from start to finish. At his last race he was second only beaten by Eagle Squadron. To be followed also in this race, the debut of Master Marcus that comes with a good record.

Betting proposition: Beach Club

Placé: Juanfra

Race 7– Rating 41-25 – 1850m

Who can beat Carcassonne in this race. The horse of the Raj Ramdin stable proved his qualities in his last three victories. He will be in a higher class but given the ease with which he won his races, he will be the horse to beat. Lividus remains on a brilliant victory and will be the main opponent of Carcassonne in the race.

Betting proposition: Carcassonne

Placé: Lividus

Race 8– Rating 30-14 – 1365m

Second behind Carcassonne, Tizaloochee had not disgraced to a race. With a gallop in the legs, Tizaloochee will be even more powerful this time and can resist till the end. Imperial Palace had ran out of stamina the last time and finished third. He is a regular courier and will be again at the finish.

Betting proposition: Tizaloochee

Placé: Imperial Palace

D-Day

Race 6 – Group 1 – 1600m

D-Day

The long-awaited duel between Green Keeper and Il Saggiatore will be held on Saturday during the main race. Both horses remain unbeaten this season. Green Keeper demonstrated to be more mature this year. He did not pull hard in races and remains dangerous when he is imposing his pace. Il Saggiatore is progressing since his victorious debut in the Duchess. Moreover, he has a devastating finish. I think that he will be the horse to beat in this race. Behind these two horses, I will give a chance to Intercontinental or Captain's Knock.

Betting proposition: Il Saggiatore

Placé: Intercontinental

Race 1 – Rating 25-0 – 1850m

At his last race, Sideliner had finished half a length of Point Of Policy after having raced wide during the last 500m. Last year, he opened his account on this distance. He is well positioned to do it again. Way Galaxy had not done badly the last time. He did not found the opening but, he still finished in fourth place. He has a chance in this race.

Betting proposition: Sideliner

Placé: Galaxy Way

Race 2 – Rating 46-30 – 1500m

Pero Valiente had made a promising start on 1000m, taking third place behind Imperial City. With this gallop in the legs, the horse of the Rousset stable will be hard to beat on a distance that suits him best. The last race of Lord Of The Dance is to be ignored. He had a difficult race as he had run wide. Can do better this time.

Betting proposition: Pero Valiente

Placé: Lord Of The Dance

Race 3 – Rating 51-35 – 1365m

The third attempt was the good one for Snappy this season when he had to resist to Up Company in the end. After this victory, he is in a more impressive form and will be very difficult to beat. He will have as main opponent, Shutterfly who was beaten by Eskimo Roll and Tobin who finished strongly to take the third place behind Traianius.

Betting proposition: Snappy

Placé: Tobin

Race 4 – Rating 56-40 – 1650m

Victorious on his debut, Bottom Dollar can do the double. The lengthen distance is not a problem for him. His main opponent, Bastille Day is regaining his best form. After having taken a slow start, the horse of the Gujadhur stable finished strongly to take third place behind Eagle Squadron.

Betting proposition: Bottom Dollar

Placé: Bastille Day

Race 5 – Rating 61-45 – 1400m

Bolting Cat likes to be at the outpost and it is in this style that he won last time.  I see him trying the same in this race. However, he must have to first overcome his bad draw. A Quiet Rush did not disgrace behind Space Captain, the last time and he will be the main opponent of Bolting Cat.

Betting proposition: Bolting Cat

Placé: A Quiet Rush

Race 7– Rating 41-25 – 1000m

With his first draw, Ask The Afghan will hard to beat in this race. He ran in progress during his last outing, taking second place behind Cheerful News. He should keep an eye on Pieces Of Eight and Patch Of Blue who also progressed since their last races.

Betting proposition: Ask The Afghan

Placé: Pieces Of Eight

Race 8– Rating 30-14 – 1500m

My preference in this race will go to Iwayini who had not done badly at his comeback race. This time with a run in the legs, he seems able to sign his first victory in 2012. Behind him, I will place Selisius who had surprised us by taking second place behind Mobschief.

Betting proposition: Iwayini

Placé: Selisius

Captain Thriller facing the trio from the Gujadhur stable

Race 6– Rating 55+ – 1400m

Captain Thriller facing the trio from the Gujadhur stable

There will be three horses of the stable Gujadhur, namely, Not Liable, Eskimo Roll and Allocation to try to put an end to the winning streak of Captain Thriller. The latter is unbeaten in three outings with us and each time won his races in a disconcerting way. Used to run at the outpost, he will have to cope with Allocation who has the reputation to be fast at the start too.

The horse who is well place to beat Captain Thriller, remains Eskimo Roll, brilliant winner last week. Not Liable also has his luck in this race. Unlucky in his last two races, each time he was close to victory. The other starters in this race, Azapel, Legal Maxim and Casey's War are certainly not beaten yet but it will be difficult for them.

Betting proposition: Eskimo Roll, Captain Thriller

Placé: Not Liable

Race 1 – Rating 25-0 – 1400m

Second behind Captain Tempest, Pride of Prussia who, moreover, remains on two consecutive second places is well placed for the victory in this field. What Price, beaten by Point Of Policy the last time also with a good chance in this race. Like Addition who finished in the third place.

Betting proposition: Pride Of Prussia

Placé: What Price

Race 2 – Rating 46-30 – 1850m

Winner in his last two races, Ntandane will try to make it three. The horse of the Perdrau stable proved to be the strongest on two occasions this season of 1600 m. This lengthen distance will not be a handicap for him. Be careful of Pardon Me Boy who had not done badly behind Bottom Dollar last time.

Betting proposition: Ntandane

Placé: Pardon Me Boy

Race 3 – Rating 51-35 – 1500m

In this small field, I see the victory of Wonderlaine. He had been dominated by Bottom Dollar in his last race. Beware also of Pegasus Legacy that has not been lucky in his last two races. He is trying his luck once again this Saturday after having not found the opening last week.

Betting proposition: Wonderlaine

Placé: Pegasus Legacy

Race 4 – Rating 56-40 – 1365m

In his last outing, Bobby Bear had not had an easy race but he still finished less than a length behind the winner. He seems to be able to win in this race if he does not concede too much ground on the initial part. Beware of Imperial City, which remains on two consecutive victories.

Betting proposition: Bobby Bear

Placé: Imperial City

Race 5 – Rating 71-55 – 1850m

This race should be played between Acuppa and Druid's Moon. Acuppa, in his comeback race, he finished strongly to take the third place behind Green Keeper. With a gallop in the legs, the horse from the Gujadhur stable should be sharper. Fourth behind Azapel, the last time, Druid's Moon is back on a distance which suited him more and has to be respected.

Betting proposition: Acuppa

Placé: Druid’s Moon

Race 7– Rating 41-25 – 1400m

Royal Times is the horse to beat in this race. He had not done wrong the last time behind Cheerful News. He will however have to keep an eye on Santos that ran in progress. Pay attention too to Eli's Connection who had been placed in two occasions this season.

Betting proposition: Royal Times

Placé: Eli’s Connection

Race 8– Rating 36-20 – 1650m

Point Of Policy will attempt to align a second consecutive victory. But he will be in a higher class. He will have as main opponent, Salvador Dali, who remains a regular horse. Good chance to Please To Progress who ran in progress last time..

Betting proposition: Point Of Policy

Placé: Salvador Dali

Eskimo Roll even in an upper class

Race 6– Rating 61-45 – 1365m

Easy winner in his last race, Eskimo Roll, can register a second consecutive victory. He has the advantage of the weight and of the draw in this race. In two races this season, Alvaro had each time been beaten by better than him. He will try to find this little few things he missed to win this time. He will surely start from the first draw but it will be hard for him with 60.5kg on the back.

Betting proposition: Eskimo Roll

Placé: Alvaro

Race 1 – Rating 20-0 – 1365m

Mobschief did not disgrace finishing second in his comeback race after a long absence. With this gallop in the legs, he should do better this time. Beware of Mustarsel who remains a regular horse and who finished in the money in his two races this year.

Betting proposition: Mobschief

Placé: Mustarsel

Race 2 – Rating 41-25 – 1650m

After finishing second in his last outings, How Many To Won looks ready for his first win this season. He should be beware of Firebolt has not done badly since the beginning of the season with two place.

Betting proposition: How Many To Won

Placé: Firebolt

Race 3 – Rating 46-30 – 1500m

Up Company did not disgrace last week when he was narrowly beaten by Snappy. He proved that he has an excellent finish. He will have as main opponent Traianius who remain on a great win, but Pegasus Legacy remains a regular courier and has also his chance.

Betting proposition: Up Company

Placé: Pegasus Legacy

Race 4 – Rating 51-35 – 1400m

Not helped with his bad draw last time, Cypress Express finished in seventh place behind Sergeant Major. This time, he will start from the second draw and if he runs on his true level, he will be hard to beat. Joe's Legacy ran in progress and should be considered in this race.

Betting proposition: Cypress Express

Placé: Joe’s Legacy

Race 5 – Rating 56-40 – 1500m

Eagle Squadron has always done well since his debut with us in the Duchess this year. He will attempt to unlock his counter in the event. Note however that Bastille Day is in good shape and the new horse in the Mahess Ramdin stable, High Accolade have also to be considered.

Betting proposition: Eagle Squadron

Placé: Bastille Day

Race 7– Rating 36-20 – 1500m

The struggle for the command will be fierce with two swift horses as Bourne Supreme and Cheerful News. This race should be played between these two. A small chance for Don’t Say Don’t who can do better with a run in the legs.

Betting proposition: Cheerful News

Placé: Don’t Say Don’t

Race 8– Rating 30-14 – 1400m

Carcassonne is on track to bring a third consecutive victory. He should pay attention to Optima Maximo who has not done badly this season with two place, and of Ball Park whose last race should be ignored

Betting proposition: Carcassone

Placé: Optima Maximo

Boarding Capitaine

Race 6– Rating 60+ – 1400m

Third behind Green Keeper last time, Capitaine is well placed for the victory. With a gallop in the legs, the horse of the Maingard stable will be a serious candidate in this race. His main opponent will be Captain’s Cheer who ended at the sixth place last time. The latter have progress since that and will have his word to say. Beware also of Royal Chalon who was the first beaten horse behind Green Keeper. We will also follow the debut of Super Storm, the crack of the Merven stable.

Betting proposition: Capitaine

Placé: Captain’s Cheer

Race 1 – Rating 25-0 – 1600m

Disappointing in his last race, Point Of Policy will have a golden opportunity to redeem himself in this race. In his previous race, he lacked of finish and I think that the state of the track did not suit him. With this race in the legs, he will perform better this time. Sideliner is to be considered in this field if he did not lose too much ground at the start.

Betting proposition: Point Of Policy

Placé: Sideliner

Race 2 – Rating 46-30 – 1365m

Snappy is on his favourite distance and this time, Beach Club will not be here to deprive him from the victory. As usual, the sprinter of the Gujadhur stable will take the lead and try to resist till the end. One And Only, surprising winner last time on 1000m is in a good form and if the pace suited him, we will be at the finish.

Betting proposition: Snappy

Placé: One And Only

Race 3 – Rating 51-35 – 1650m

Though he is facing tougher opponents, I think that Diamond Light has the potential to win this race. We must not forget that the runner of the Raj Ramdin stable had followed wide in the back before to overcome his opponents easily at the end. Third on his last outing on 1400m, Key Of Gold is to be followed in the race as the lengthened distance will suit him.

Betting proposition: Diamond Light

Placé: Key Of Gold

Race 4 – Rating 56-40 – 1400m

With his first draw, Bolting Cat should rapidly take the command of this race and not be beaten. Le horse of the Perdrau stable has not disgrace behind September Wind in his come-back race. The run has greatly been beneficial for him and he is in a better shape. After having beaten Snappy twice, Beach Club will try to do the same this time against Boltong Cat. Unbeaten in 2 races this season, the runner of the Rameshwar Gujadhur stable is in a superior range but he has his chance.

Betting proposition: Bolting Cat

Placé: Beach Club

Race 5 – Rating 61-45 – 1500m

Close winner last time, Bobby Bear is in a superior range and he will try to take advantage of his light weight to win once again. His main opponent will be Prince Of troy who had not done badly by ending at 2L behind Druid’s Moon after having been wide in the race. With this gallop in the legs he can win again.

Betting proposition: Bobby Bear

Placé: Prince Of Troy

Race 7– Rating 41-25 – 1500m

Last time, Tamworth took the third place behind Ntandane and this after having been inconvenienced in the straight line. He would have certainly preferred a longer distance but has recorded a win on this distance. Santos has raced in progressed in his last two outings this season. Beware also of Saziwayo who will rely on his finish.

Betting proposition: Tamworth

Placé: Santos

Race 8– Rating 36-20 – 1365m

City Of Choice was a clear winner last time when we won by 4L. He has keep his good form and should be able to register another victory. Court report is on the up. He has ended at less than one length of Day Of Reckoning on his last race. If he keeps his progression he can make it. Pay attention also to Manta Ridge who did not disgrace in his last race after having run wide.

Betting proposition: City Of Choice

Placé: Manta Ridge
